Course Objective

This course aims at defining economic relations in urban areas, presenting spatial economic theories with the circumstances under which they have developed, getting to comprehend current approaches of land economics, interpreting the Turkish urban transformation model as a case of practice, and analysing the relationships between economy and urbanization.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, students, will be able to define economic relations (Knowledge),
2   will be able to list different spatial economic theories (Knowledge),
3   will be able to describe current approaches of land economics (Comprehension),
4   will be able to interprete the Turkish urban transformation model (Application),
5   will be able to relate economy to urbanization (Analysis).

This course will be given through lectures. Students will learn topics by attending and listening the lectures.
