Course Objective

This course intends to give students the ability to use English more effectively in professional terms by means of augmenting further use of planning terminology in foreign language, providing advanced access to foreign literature in planning and facilitating international communication via both audio and visual tools.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To properly use basic planning terms and concepts in English as a foreign language
2   To express fundamental developments concerning the underlying vision of an urban design product, its objective framework, design and planning principles as well as implementation terms in a foreign language
3   To follow the current agenda of planning through literature survey in urban studies
4   To become skilled in use of professional terminology in English
5   To formulate professional debates in international environments
