Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce some special polymers to the sudents who might have to deal with polymer-based products in their future careers and gain the ability to predict the possible application areas of these polymers according to their structures and properties. Also, students will be asked to give two seminars in pairs and their evaluations will affect the success of the student.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Realize the importance of the use of polymeric materials in various fields.
2   Interpret the structure-property relationship of polymers.
3   Predict the possible application areas of polymers according to their structures and properties.
4   Explain and discuss the related topics via oral presentations.
5   Recognize the contributions of different disciplines on the success of the covered topics.
6   Discuss the impacts of various polymeric products on environment, economy and social life.
