Textile Engineering

Course Objective

Within the scope of the course; It is aimed to introduce commercialized or noncommercialized alternative spinning technologies in detail. For this purpose, the working principles, production processes, advantages, constraints of the alternative technologies and the properties of the yarns they produce are examined in detail. The course covers many spinning technologies such as compact spinning, open-end spinning technologies, false-twist spinning, air-jet spinning etc.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Learning and classification of alternative spinning systems.
2   To learn alternative spinning technologies such as air-jet, friction, false twist, compact, open-end etc. in detail
3   To learn the structures of yarns produced with alternative technologies
4   To have knowledge about the limits and constraints of alternative spinning systems
5   To compare the properties of yarns produced with alternative spinning systems with yarns produced by traditional methods
