Course Objective

To describe and classify the texture, texture yarn and texture technologies and to define false twist, air-jet, BCF yarn production technologies, bicomponent texture and chemical texture technologies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having knowledge about the structure, properties and usage areas of textured yarns
2   To have knowledge about thermomechanical, mechanical and chemical texturing methods
3   To have detailed information about the air jet texturing method
4   To have detailed information about the false twist texturing method
5   Knowledge of the tests and quality control processes applied to textured yarns

6 Thermochemical (bicomponent fiber) texturing methods
7 False twist texturing method - Principle, machine design, twisting units
8 Air-jet texturing method - Principle, machine design
9 Filament centering with air jet
10 Midterm
11 High volume (BCF) yarn production methods
12 Tests and quality control procedures applied to textured yarns
