Course Objective

Properties and textile applications of a) rotational motion mechanisms (friction disk, belt drives, roller chain drives, timing belts and gear drives), b) cam mechanisms and c) linkage mechanisms are given.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Recognizing the mechanisms used in the textile machinery
2   Ability to analyze in detail the mechanisms used in the textile machinery
3   Ability to analyze and do necessary calculations for the mechanisms given.
4   Ability to propose solutions for the problems of the textile machinery related with the mechanism
5   Getting the point of view to suggest alternative mechanisms for textile machineries
