Course Objective

The concepts of boundary layer, turbulent boundary layer flow and the velocity distribution are explained to the students; calculation methods of the drift of different objects in a layer in motion and Stokes law are explained to provide to solve practical problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the basic concepts related to fluid mechanics
2   Calculate the boundary layer and velocity distribution in laminar flow.
3   Calculate the boundary layer and velocity distribution in turbulent flow.
4   Calculate the speed of micro-sized particles in the fluid medium.
5   Calculate the losses in a fluid system.
