Course Objective

Establishing mathematical models and applying solution methods in the optimum design of engineering problems

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to formulate engineering problems as optimum design problems
2   Ability to express basic quantities with physical and mathematical concepts and principles in the formulation of optimization problems.
3   Ability to use basic mathematical knowledge in solving optimization problems
4   Ability to solve formulated problems using classical methods
5   Ability to use Excel program to solve optimization problems
