Course Objective

To realize the relationships between material-tool-bench as an engineer and obtaining of optimum processing conditions and to learn doing approximate costs calculation for students that works at machinig area candidate.

1   To define and compare machining processes and practices
2   To understand the mechanics of metal cutting
3   To evaluate relationships between tool and bench
4   To do basic force, power, energy calculations for machining operations
5   To define and compare cutting tool materials and geometry
6   To define concepts related to the economy and product design in machining processing
7   To learn basic information about non-traditional machining methods

3 Analysis of metal cutting factors and optimization of these factors
4 Tool equipment of cutting tool technology, materials, cutting fluids
5 Turning bench power, processing time, tools and auxiliary units
6 Power and Energy relationships in machining
7 Miling and other machinig methods
8 Planning, shaping, drilling, threading operations
9 Grinding, broaching, honing and surface quality
10 Technology and Process Planning Methods of Machining, Turning, Machining centers, drilling operations
