Course Objective

According to the desired properties of natural stones at using areas, Natural Stones standards, quality control laboratory tests, CE mark, mandatory and optional tests

2   To have information about the standards of natural stones
3   To organize and manage laboratory testing processes in natural stones
4   To decide for the intended use of natural stones according to experimental results
5   To control the quality of natural stones according to international standards

1 Natural stone products and quality control parameters
2 National and international standardization in natural stone
3 Used standards for quality control of natural stone
4 Used standards for quality control of natural stone
5 Determination of the physical properties of natural stone by lab. tests
6 Specific Gravity, Apparent density determination of total and open porosity, water absorption tests
7 Roughness, hardness, brightness, the determination of the speed of sound experiments in progress
8 Determination of the mechanical properties of natural stone by lab. tests
9 Compressive strength, flexural strength, abrasion and slip resistance etc. experiments
10 Weathering properties in natural stone
11 Rust hazard, acid resistance, salt crystallization experiments ... etc.
12 CE marking and Green Label applications
13 Obligatory and optional tests in the CE marking at natural stone
14 Evaluation of Turkish natural stones within the scope of the course
