Course Objective

In this course, to provide the definitions of marble and their properties, To show the details of surface and underground marble production methods and Technologies, to show the details of marble cutting and processing methods and Technologies, to provide the use of marbles and marble wastes and to explain marble economy and marble potential in the world and Turkey will be lectured.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Ability to make a literature survey to find the required data and the methods to be used to select of the quarry machineries for a specific aim and present and synthesis the results
2   Be able to design a system, component or process to meet desired needs.
3   Be able to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems in stone industry.
4   Be able to apply fundamental science to natural stone production system applications.
5   Be aware of robust manufacturing design
