Course Objective

In this lesson, the students learn underground development studies which should be made for production of any ore deposit and in the result of these studies, they learn to select production method and its application ways.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   able to determine underground heading developments which should be made in various ore deposits.
2   able to plan developments depending on the characteristics of ore deposits in the mine.
3   able to define sublevel lengths and gallery cross-sections as suitable to the purpose during the mine developments.
4   able to make selection of used methods and comparisons with each other for the production of coal and ore.
5   able to select the most appropriate mining method for determining the factors affecting the choice of special productions method.
6   able to decide selecting one of the sinking shaft methods by examining environmental conditions in terms of excess water inflow and rock strength.
