Course Objective

1) To improve the skills about measurement technique, map-making techniques and land survey and applications
2) To improve the skills about topographic measurement and applications with topographic map preparation and interpretation
3) To improve the skills about application of the land survey to underground

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define the basic concepts related to land surveying techniques
2   To use engineering techniques and modern engineering tools
3   Planning about multi-disciplinary teamwork and carry out engineering works
4   Reinforce land surveying tasks and interpret results
5   To associate topographical calculations with the mathematics, science and engineering informations
6   Identify to engineering problems, then modeling and solving

1 Geodesy, phogrametry and GIS and map making techniques
2 Map types, Coordinate systems, and basic operations on coordinate calculations
3 Length measurement and Area calculations
4 The angle measurement technique, the structure of theodolite and total station instruments
5 Traverse types and calculations (1)
6 Traverse types and calculations (2)
7 Height measurements and calculations
8 Optical measuring instruments and tacheometric survey
9 Topographic map preparation and take cross section
10 Underground polygons, height and compass measurements (1)
11 Height and compass measurements (2)
12 Dip and strike calculations of seams, real thickness calculation
13 Measuring of well depth
14 Underground production maps(mine mapping and layout)
