Course Objective

The course aims to provide understanding of the basic techniques of communication theory, some transforms, filtering theory and application in geophysics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to sampling signals appropriately
2   To be able to understand some transforms used in geophysics
3   To be able to calculate discrete Fourier Transform
4   Learning window types and having knowledge about windowing in geophysics.
5   To be able to determine the application criteria for filtering and to apply filters to geophysical data.
