Course Objective

A general introduction of drilling techniques and equipment will be given. It is aimed for students to understand the selection of suitable equipment for the purpose of drilling, the drilling process and the following activities.

1   Learns general information about history of drilling and their application purposes.
2   Gains ability to determine the drilling technique.
3   Gains ability to identify drilling equipment.
4   Learns general information on cable-tool drilling
5   Learns general information on rotary drilling
6   Learns the relationship between geophysic studies and drilling.
