Course Objective

In the course content, Definition, classification, idealization and modeling of structures are given first. Then, Analysis of statically determinate structures including beams, frames and arches. Work and energy principles and their applications in deformation analysis of structures. Conjugate beam method, influence lines are explained in the course content.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Classification of structural systems and loads
2   Comparison of structural systems considering their advantages and disadvantages
3   Selecting different structural systems for different use cases
4   To be able to interpret the internal force and displacement of loads in structural systems and to interpret the results.
5   To be able to research information about the solution methods of building systems, to gain the ability to solve the problem with interdisciplinary studies.
