Course Objective

The course has several objectives including historical development of water structures, theoretical background in water resources economy, water law, development of water resources, water demands, dams, weirs, water intake structures, purification, treatment, free surface and pressurezed flow, water supply and sewerage, irrigation and drainage, flood control, stream transportation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Enforce the students to learn on the fundamentals of the water resources practices from the past to present including laws and economics.
2   Enforce the students to apply basic approaches in designing the water supply systems, irrigation and hydropower systems.
3   Enforce the students to design intake structures, open channels and pressurized conduits.
4   Enforce the students to design water supply, distribution and sewage systems.
5   Enforce the students to learn the components of hydropower systems and to design them.
6   Enforce the students to learn the method of flood mitigation.
7   Enforce the students to learn the details of transport systems on rivers.
