Course Objective

The objectives of this course are to inform the civil engineering students on how construction projects are planned and scheduled with instructing them on several scheduling techniques such as CPM, Precedence and PERT. It is also aimed to demonstrate the students on how these techniques are carried out to real life projects with showing them the relevant computer applications.

1   Having a general knowledge on the nature of construction projects and understanding principles of project planning.
2   Learning project scheduling techniques.
3   Realizing the significance of resource during project planning.
4   Learning how construction projects are planned and scheduled with the aid of computer applications.
5   Preparing Project and production stages work scheduling.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Visual presentations and the slides presentation given in the course(sent to the students before class to read via e-mail.). The preparation and presentation of homework given to each student at the beginning of the period.
