Course Objective

The course deals with project portfolio together management, planning, project controlling like claim management, project risk management, project quality management, team management, documentation, organisational learning, communication management and presentation techniques. To learn basic introduction to the philosophy and methodology of project organisation and management in the production of the manufacturing and service sector.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To ensure that limited resources in production are used with a project management approach in order to produce quality products
2   To ensure the regular, disciplined and hierarchical use of limited resources within the framework of the project management philosophy
3   To support the decision maker in making the right decision in the rational use of limited resources by using numerical techniques
4   To support the decision maker, the project manager in making the right decision in Production Management
5   Increasing the performance of the project by using Risk Identification techniques different from estimation techniques

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course is taught in a lecture, class presentation and discussion format. All class members are expected to attend and both the lecture and take part in the discussion sessions. Besides the taught lecture, group presentations are to be prepared by the groups assigned for that week and presented to open a discussion session.

Assessment Criteria

There will be minimum 2 projects, averaged out grades for which will be 15 % of the overall success of the students. mid-term examinations will be averaged and affect the grade by 35 %. Final exam will be 50 % of the resulting grade.
