Course Objective

With this course, it is aimed to develop the coding and MS Excel usage skills of the students and to achieve professional gains suitable for the Industry 4.0 era we are in, by introducing the DSS applications that DEU Industrial Engineering Department students may need in their professional lives, with MS Excel environment.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding decision support systems and their importance
2   Learning the use of MS Excel and the advantages it can provide in professional life
3   Gain the ability to solve and interpret various engineering problems with MS Excel Solver
4   Ability to record, edit and code problem-solving macros with Visual Basic Applications (VBA)
5   Ability to use MS Excel Solver autonomously and semi-autonomously via VBA
6   To be able to use Monte Carlo Simulation techniques with MS Excel and VBA.
