Course Objective

Determining the total amount of drinking and potable water by calculating the future population of the city by using various estimation methods. Obtaining water from various sources such as suitable springs and groundwater and conveying it to the reservoir through pumping and gravity transmission lines. To transmit the water stored in the reservoir on a daily basis to the city through the network line. To create a technically and economically appropriate network passage in the city. To ensure the distribution of water in the network in line with the needs of the city. To realise the design and dimensioning of water supply systems to adjust the necessary pressures in the network for uninterrupted water supply.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define the main components in the design and dimensioning of water supply systems
2   To be able to define the system components in the design of water supply systems, to be able to determine the data (population, flow rate and data for application) based on the project design
3   To be able to design the components of water supply systems (transmission line, reservoir, network line, network)
4   To be able to make detailed designs of water supply systems (pumping, reservoir, reservoir, network) and to be able to interpret alternative designs of network
5   Ability to work effectively in project groups
6   .
