Course Objective

It is to provide students with the tools, and the skills to use these tools, to understand the underlying concepts and practical tradeoffs entailed in public finance policy alternatives.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having public economic terminology by defining and discussing the terminology as well as applying it to current events;
2   Evaluating current policies in Turkey related to education, health care, insurance, and poverty;
3   Discussing issues relating to the supply of public goods in a multilevel system of government;
4   Explaining the limits for financial management action to increase outputs and outcomes and to reduce costs within the public sector;
5   Generalizing the implications for public finance of a range of public policies and decisions.
6   Synthesizing Public Finance Policies by using an economic approach to solve current finance policy problems.
7   Evaluating current policies in national and global term.
