Course Objective

Branches of engineering (other than environmental engineering) students will learn regulatory and preventive activities.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Introduction to the course. Impact on humans and the environment, ecological concepts.
2 Environmental Ethics. Environmental ethics and respect for the environment.
3 Environmental Consciousness in Turkey and the World. Global environmental problems, Turkey's environmental problems environmental disasters, quality of life and the environment.
4 Sources of pollution. Domestic wastes, industrial wastes, agricultural wastes.
5 Environmental Problems. Population growth, air pollution, water pollution.
6 Environmental Problems. Soil pollution, noise pollution.
7 .Environmental Problems. Urbanization, green space loss and erosion.
8 Environmental Problems. Mining, energy, tourism and the environment.
9 Environmental Pollution Control. Environmental law, environmental impact evaluation.
10 Midterm. Midterm exam.
11 Environmental Pollution Control. Air pollution control, water pollution control.
12 Environmental Pollution Control. Solid waste disposal, hazardous waste disposal.
13 Public Awareness. Public awareness for Environmental Pollution.
14 Duties and Responsibilities of the Environmental Pollution Control. Central and local governments, scientific organizations, voluntary organizations.
15 Exam. Final Exam.
