Course Objective

Teaching the communication skills that will be needed in engineering profession of the students

Course Contents

1 Meeting and introduction of the lecture
2 Communication and its fundementals, process of communication
3 Quality of communication. Things to be avoided in communication.Reasons that make the communication unsuccessful.
4 Main principles of communication and basic communication skills.
5 Basic communication skills. Listening, self recognising, self expressing
6 Body language, gesture and facial expression. Coordination of body language and behavior.
7 Communication statistics and comments on them. Classification of communication. Non-verbal communication. Verbal communication. Non-verbal communication. Behavioral communication.
8 Verbal communication and listening. Listening and speaking
9 Verbal communication, speaking Voice, speech, appearance. The properties of voice which make difference, the properties of voice for good speaking. Types of speaking.
10 Body language and image. Behavioral communication. meanings of distances in communication, meta message, semi-linguistic communication, hidden agenda
11 Defender communication, communication in crisis, role communication, communication based on questions
12 The art of response, The art of criticism, The art of convincing Being able to say "no". How to reply snide questions
13 Organizational and formal communication, Social dimention of communication, communication in electronic environment, virtual communication. End of year activity Giving certificates to the successful students. An activity with music, dialogs etc. in order to attand the final exam with high spirits
