Course Objective

The course International Environmental Policy is a basic course of Public Administration and provides students with information and skill about how environmental management is dealt with at international level and about the place and interaction of Türkiye in this area concerning environmental conservation and use. The course focuses on the ability of public administrators to think strategically about the environment, to develop local and national scenarios and to take part in international cooperation.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to learn the main philosophy of environmental protection
2   To be able to learn outline of current legislations, agreements and charters which are related environmental policies in Europe.
3   To be able to learn some of the special international legal agreements with environmental and economic dimensions,
4   To be able to learn local government policies in connected with the national and international level (in Türkiye and European comparatively as structural)
5   To evaluate environmental aspects of international organizations and the activities of environment-centered organizations
6   to analyze the condition of Türkiye against international agreements and its relations with international organizations.

3.Bütünleşik olarak uluslar arası temel düzenlemeleri yorumlayabilmek ve eylem planlarını Türkiye için oluşturabilmek,
4.Türkiye nin çevre yönetimi ve politikalarını oluşturmada, küresel politik gelişmeleri kalkınma-korunma yapısı içinde değerlendirme becerisi kazanmak,
5. Demokratik katılım metotlarının uygulanmasıyla ilgili sorumluluklarının farkında olmak,
6. Yöneticilerin ulusal ve küresel çevre sorunlarına yönelik sorumluluklarını bilmek,
