Course Objective

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with significant contemporary developments concerning the European Union. The focus will be on political, social, and cultural aspects of the ongoing integration process.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate understanding of various policies of the European Union in order to analyze the role of the EU in current political, social and cultural developments.
2   Explain different kinds of EU policies and approaches toward the selected current developments in order to assess the Union's strategies.
3   Develop the skill to engage in class discussions.
