Course Objective

This course aims to provide students with an understanding of factors, which shape the individual and group
behavior in organizational settings. The course also aims to explain how to deal with behavioral problems, to
maintain a high quality of work life, to improve individual, group and organizational performance and the
manager's role in applying the findings of behavioral sciences and using conceptual tools for analyzing and
understanding behavior.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts and theories related to behavior in a work environment.
2   Identify possible individual, group, and organizational level factors effecting behavior in a given work situation.
3   Apply appropriate techniques to shape, improve, employee behavior and satisfaction.
4   Work effectively as part of a team participating and interacting in the group in a productive manner for him/herself and for the group as a whole.
5   Develop oral/written communication skills; articulate and defend his/her position.
6   Develop and enhance the essential interpersonal skills to be an effective team member.

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will categorize basic concepts and theories related to behavior at work.
2. The learner will explain the distinguishing characteristics of individual, group and organizational factors.
3. The learner will formulate key techniques to shape, improve employee behavior.
4. The learner will state how to work effectively as part of a team.

Rubric for Term project assessment:
The term project will be graded based on the four elements (criteria) below:

1. Literature Review: Writing up a literature review section on a topic chosen from the course book. The literature review must demonstrate a good understanding of the topic with a comprehensive review of relevant, up-to-date literature. The review must be well-organized, critically engage with the material, and clearly identify key theories and concepts. (25 points)

2. Development of Interview Questions: Students must develop well-prepared interview questions that are in alignment with the conceptual information obtained from the literature review, aimed at assessing the practices and characteristics of an interviewed manager and their organization regarding the topic in question. The questions should also demonstrate the students' clear understanding of the topic. (25 points)
3. Analysis and Critical Evaluation: Students should conduct a deep, meaningful analysis of the interview data; they must subject the interview findings to a comprehensive comparison with the literature. Students should identify points where the interview findings are compatible and incompatible with the literature and make meaningful suggestions. (30 points)
4) Presentation and writing quality: The report must be well- written, well-organized, and free of grammatical or spelling errors. The oral presentation must be in a professional manner, clear, concise, and engaging. (20 points)

This particular element is somewhat absent and does not entirely fit the context. Fair (40%)
This particular element is developed satisfactorily and fits the context at an acceptable standard. Good (60%)
This particular element is developed in a good and professional way and fits into the context. Very good (80%)
