Course Objective

The main aim of this course is to ensure that the students who take the course have general knowledge about the inspections carried out by the IMO, PSC and the Maritime Industry on the vessels.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To ensure that the students have general knowledge about the inspections carried out on the vessels.
2   Ensuring that the students have information about Psc, Sire, Cdi etc. audits.
3   Information about Oil Tankers
4   Understanding of Potential Hazards of Oil Precautions
5   Skill in Oil Load Calculation, Longitudinal Balance calculations

7 Applicable Conventions, ISM, ISPS.
8 PSC Inspection
9 Legal Aspects, Enforcement Action by the Port State.
10 Introduction to Vetting Process.
11 Tanker Vetting and Inspetion - SIRE Programme.
12 Tanker Vetting and Inspetion - CDI Programme.
13 Class surveys/statutory surveys/other surveys.
14 Tanker Management Self-Assessment.
15 General Evaluation.
16 Final Exam.
