Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide research process in social and engineering sciences. The Project motivates students and allows them to choose a topic that is both an extension of their diploma studies and one which they have a personal interest in the marine transportation field. It helps learners to become independent, reflective and self-evaluating individuals.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   students will learn about the research process related to a subject
2   students will be able to define the problems and to produce optimal solutions
3   students will acquire the skills to collect, classify, analyze, and interpret comprehensive information about the subject which they want to search.
4   students will be able to consider science ethics when writing their projects
5   students will be able to use report preparation techniques and presentation skills

Assessment Criteria

Knowledge about maritime transportation and operations at undergraduate level, having skills and competencies, research, analysis, interpretation, verbal and written expression, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial skills and competencies will be evaluated.

Course Policies and Rules

Advisors must be visited regularly and the tasks should be finished in due time. In case of absence at the interim report and final report presentations and non conformance with the guidelines of project writing will make the student fail.
