Course Objective

Development in ports and generations. Port capacity evaluation. Port demand forecasting. Economics of port design and layout. Port equipment selection. Container terminal operations. General cargo terminal operations. Dry and liquid cargo terminal operations. Port performance measurement. Port performance measurement at container terminals. Port performance measurement at liquid, general and dry cargo terminals. Innovation at ports, smart and green port applications.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, controlling, and leading the operation of the ship and the care for persons at operational and managerial levels.
2   A knowledge of national and international legislation.
3   A knowledge, awareness and demonstration of safety, security and quality issues.
4   An ability to identify, formulate, and solve maritime transportation engineering problems.
5   An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
