Course Objective

The contents of the course at least covers the minimum knowledge, understanding and proficiency required for certification of Model Course 7.01 chapter 3.1.1.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knowledge of the effect on trim and stability of a ship in the event of damage to
2   Knowledge of consequent flooding of a compartment and countermeasures to be taken
3   Knowledge of IMO recommendations concerning ship stability
4   To understand Ship construction, including damage control
5   To understand factors affecting trim and stability and measures necessary to preserve trim and stability
