Course Objective

The aim of this course is to give a theoretical knowledge to the students about maritime labour law which mainly deals with the relations arising from the labour contract enacted between employees and their employers.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Use legal terminology appropriately
2   Apply knowledge of the structure of the legal system to understand the validity of various types of legal pronouncements, rulings and regulations related with maritime transport
3   Identify various types of legal issues when encountering them in the workplace
4   Identify forms of legal remedies available under labour law
5   Understand the key principles of individual and collective labour law
