Course Objective

To give general view of republican period of Education. To examine the general laws that conducts the religious education from the beginning of the Republic. To clarify how much religious education taking place in schools according to educational politics. To evaluate the discussions about religious education.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students will be able to explain formal education in Republican era and compare it with school s programme.
2   They can give sufficient information about the structure and changes that religious high schools had from their beginnings.
3   They will explain the establishment period and developments of the theology faculties.
4   They will have a point of view on Turkish religious education s understanding and its ties with socio-cultural process.
5   They can evaluate the politics of religious education in republican period.

6 The discussions about religious education in earlier years of Turkish Grand National Assembly
