Course Objective

The aim of this course is to introduce the basic topics, problems, schools of islamic philosophy of ethics by observing and using basic and fundamental texts of islamic philosophers. Another aim of this course is to show the students the place of ethics in the islamic philosophy and history of philosophy and to compare the ideas of islamic philosophy of ethics with comtemporary ideas and problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   the student will comprehend the ideas and debates in Islamic Philosophy of Ethics
2   the student will gain to ability to distinguish between action, deed and aim and understand basic ethical concepts
3   the student will evaluate the theories and ideas of philosophers on the problem of action and aim of human beings
4   the student will see the basic explanations of social and individual actions and deeds which are contributing the ethical development
5   the student will see the relationship of ethical problems with jobs and occupations
