Course Objective

To introduce the relation between women s issues and anti-women rhetoric in religions; the relation between religion and the rhetoric that centred men and his male dominant world with his rights and differences from women. To make clear the understanding of religious claims about perceptions and acceptance of women in societies. To grasp the methodology of studying religions objectively about their approaches on women issues

1   They will realize the religious claims that put forth women issues
2   They will understand the religious effects on women perception and acceptance
3   They will notify the relation between women s issues and anti-women rhetoric in religions
4   They will get used to look objectively at religious teachings and understand women issues caused by religions

Homework/presentation: Students will prepare homework and will present it in class.
Exam: in one semester, sit in exams will be held as one midterm and one final.
Attendance: Obligatory
Success of students: mid-term exam, final exam and the performance of students will be considered for their succession.
