Course Objective

To teach the historical background of relationships between Islam and the West in order to assess the current situation.

1   Students will learn the historical relationships between Islam and the West.
2   They will learn the historical manifestation in the modern society.
3   They will discuss the orientalistic scholarship.
4   They will understand causes and effects of Islamophobia.
5   They will compare the Islamic and the Western civilization.
