Course Objective

To learn historical development and current situation of Papacy which is important for both Catholic Church and Europe

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   understand the meaning of the main terms like ecclesia , chain of authority and papacy ;
2   know main features of Catholic Church
3   perceive institutionalization of Papacy and its historical development
4   have an idea about the nature of relations between Papacy and the Islamic world historically
5   can comment on the position and main issues of Papacy in modern times and its relations with other religious traditions
