Course Objective

To help student in developing an understanding of the religious and philosophical foundations of the relationship between religion and state

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Students can comprehend the basic concepts about relationships between religion and politics.
2   Students will learn about the basic approaches of Qoran and Sunnah to politics, and Islamic political system in the Middle ages
3   Students will learn about historical and philosophical development of religion and state relations in the West
4   Students will learn about models of religion and state relations in the contemporary societies
5   Students can comprehend the modern approaches about Islam and laic systems and search for democracy debates
