Course Objective

To read and understand the literary and cultural texts written in Ottoman Turkish and to make use of these sources.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Translate and examine the Ottoman texts.
2   Report the ways of finding the root words and words derived from Arabic origin.
3   The ability to make the etymological analysis of words of Arabic and Persian origin in our language.
4   The ability to explain the general characteristics of Ottoman Turkish spelling.
5   The ability to read literary and cultural texts written in Ottoman Turkish.
