Course Objective

The aim of this course to provide to the students the basic concepts and institutions of consumer law. In this course giving to the students the basic and general information related to consumer law.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to explain the concept of Consumer Law
2   Be able to interpretation of Consumer Law Rules.
3   Be able to reveal their connection of Consumer Law to other branches of law.
4   Be able to apply the rule of Consumer law for the settlement of disputes.
5   Be able to determine of disputes within the jurisdiction of the Consumer Courts.

1 1. Historical Development of Consumer Law, The reasons and methods of consumer protection.
2 2. The concepts of consumer transactions, including what consumer, seller and trader means
3 3. Consumer transactions in terms of contract types
4 4. Basic principles of the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502
5 5. Consumer Protection Measures: Pre-Contractual Protection Measures (Misleading advertising and unfair commercial practices).
6 6. Protective measures during the conclusion of the contract - The unfair conditions in the consumer contracts.
7 7. Post-contractual measures: Defective good, responsibility of defective good delivery.
8 8. Alternative rights of consumer for defective goods, varranty deed.
9 9. Defective service, responsibility of defective service delivery.
10 10. Alternative rights of consumer in defective service delivery.
