Course Objective

Gain the knowledge of the Definition of Family, Marriage and Engagement to Marriage and Divorce and their Reason, and also the ending of marriage and their legal consequences. Also the establishment of Filiation, and the legal grounds of parental custody and tutelage will teached in this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to determine the importance of family, which is the basis of society
2   Gain information about the concept of family and its place in Turkish law.
3   Be able to understand the stages of establishing the marital union (engagement, marriage) and the reasons for the termination of these stages (breaking off the engagement, divorce and separation).
4   Be able to understand the consequences of the dissolution of marriage for the parties and children.
5   Be able to determine the guardianship and custody law.
