Course Objective

- Learning of Hellenistic Pottery (320-30 BC) of Kitchen Ware, Plain Ware, and Table Ware including their fashionable ornaments.
- Studying the centers of pottery production.
- Trade Relation between cities and distribution pattern of pottery.
- Investigate the regional differences of pottery production.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   identify a Hellenistic pottery object.
2   find out the function of pottery fragment looking at the feature of clay and surface treatment
3   able able to tell the type of the studied Hellenistic pottery.
4   find out the production method.
5   describe the pottery correct terminology and date it roughly.
6   write correct catalogue entries and recording process.
