Course Objective

This course aims to allow the student to apply knowledge from linguistic and translation studies. In this respect, problems which can be faced in the translation of LGP and LSP texts will be tackled and potential solutions will be offered.

1   To translate LGP as well as LSP texts
2   To explain the role of the translator
3   To apply knowledge comprising theories of translation derived from linguistic theories which were taught during the Linguistics and Translation course
4   To discuss, criticize and evaluate the quality of a translated text
5   To make necessary corrections on a translated text
