In this lecture the students will learn the biochemical processes profoundly influenced by chemical species in the environment, detection, importance and the nature of these species and their degradation.

1   Explain the basic concepts of environmental biochemistry and the basis of biochemical techniques used,
2   Explain and discuss the degradation processes of chemical substances in the environment,
3   Express the basis of determination methods of degradation products,
4   Discuss the metabolic importance of degradation products in biological systems.
