Course Objective

In this course, students will understand how to do basic research about a taopic that they are interested in organic chemistry. It is aimed to teach students how to search and evaluate the literature related to the subject, able to choose the appropriate method for the purpose of research and planning a study. It is aimed to make student be able to design syntheses and purification of organic compounds by various methods and to characterize them by spectroscopic techniques.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course students will be able to;make rewiev the related literature and evaluate the results of a scientific issue
2   know the synthetic methods in organic chemistry and choose the appropriate method
3   determine the appropriate method for purification and spectroscopic characterization of organic compounds synthesized,
4   have information about research planning and developing projects of an organic chemistry research topic
5   produce an article from the results obtained from an organic chemistry research
