Course Objective

The main objective of this course is to synthesize and purify coordination compounds, characterize them with different methods and to interpret the results of the experiments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Synthesize coordination compounds with different geometrical structures.
2   Determine the properties of complexes using crystal field theory and electronic spectroscopy.
3   Differentiate the isomers of coordination compounds with infrared spectroscopy and determine their conductivity by conductometric method.
4   Can examine the acid hydrolysis kinetics of a complex ion with a geometric isomer.
