Course Objective

The objective of this course is to provide advanced operations research tools for decision making in industrial systems. The aim is to provide a deep knowledge about the problems arising in industrial systems for the students. Moreover, it aims the students to learn and acquire the ability to apply operations research techniques such as integer programming, nonlinear programming etc.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Building a model for integer, mixed integer and non-linear programming problems
2   Explaining the problems arising in industrial systems with integer, mixed integer and non-linear programming problems
3   Solving integer, mixed integer and non-linear programming problems
4   Solving integer, mixed integer and non-linear programming problems, with statistical packages such as TORA and WINQSB
5   Interpreting the results
