Course Objective

1. To define the basic concepts of nuclear physics,
2. Describing the structure and properties of the nucleus and
3. To show how to solve nuclear physics problems.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines the basic concepts of nuclear physics.
2   Defines the properties of nuclei, experimental phenomena and related theoretical approaches.
3   Explain the phenomena of nuclear physics using the knowledge of classical physics, electromagnetic theory, quantum mechanics and statistical physics.
4   Defines the general properties of interactions between nucleons.
5   Solves a given problem by using theoretical models in nuclear physics.
6   Explain the decay phenomena knowing the types of nuclear decay.
7   Calculates expected parameters for a given reaction using general properties of nuclear reactions.
8   Calculates the activity for a given sample using the decay law.
