Course Objective

This course aims to examine major Western philosophers and their works, and major philosophical fields within a historical framework.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To identify major Western philosophers and their works
2   To explain major philosophical concepts
3   To recognize the major arguments of significant Western philosophers in selected texts
4   To explain the historical development of the major discussions in each philosophical field
5   To analyze texts and to produce texts argued according to advanced philosophical criteria
