Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the risk factors and effects of candidate teacher candidates, the groups of children created by risk factors; children living in the street, children working in the streets, children working in the sectors, broken family children, children in need of protection, suicided children, neglected and exploited children, developmentally risky children, children living in unfavorable environmental conditions and their characteristics, critical elements in their education, in Türkiye, for education of children at risk and theoretical about the projects implemented in other countries, it is to ensure the application of research and making information available.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Knows basic concepts about children under the risk.
2   List the concepts and content of children's and juvenile delinquency issues that children often face.
3   Explain the law on the protection of children and international treaties on children.
4   Describe the educational orientation of emotional intelligence and spiritual endurance in children under risk.
5   The children who are connected to the sectors, the broken family children, the children in need of protection
6   Deficient and abused children describe developmentally at-risk children, children living in adverse environmental conditions, and their characteristics
7   Explain for the education of children at risk projects implemented in Türkiye and in other countries
8   Critical elements in training, precautions to be taken
9   Explain the work done with the society about the high benefit of the child

5 Emotional development and spiritual durability in child and social-emotional intelligence
6 Migration and Poverty
7 Social exclusion and loneliness
8 General review, course evaluation, midterm exam
9 Children and their characteristics living in unfavorable environmental conditions
10 Child protection law, urgent protection decision, control
11 Sexual development, Moral development, Child neglect and Abuse,
12 International conventions and work done in the community about the high benefit of the child
13 Critical elements in education, precautions to be taken
14 Projects implemented in Türkiye and other countries for the education of children at risk
15 Final exam
